A New Publication Confirms NGS as a Reliable Technology

for Adventitious Virus Detection

𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: A comparative study conducted by members of the Advanced Virus Detection Technologies Working Group (𝐀𝐕𝐃𝐓𝐖𝐆), including participants from industry, contract research organizations (CROs), and the FDA, has been published in npj Vaccines.

This study assessed the ability of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) to detect low levels of viral particles in a high-titer virus stock.

As a member of the AVDTWG, PathoQuest is proud to have contributed to this collaborative initiative aimed at advancing regulatory-aligned virus detection strategies for the biopharmaceutical industry.

All five WHO-referenced viruses were successfully detected,

including the most challenging one, circovirus low virus levels.
