Bioinformatics Engineer – Operations
PathoQuest is a specialized service company (CRO), a spin off of the Institut Pasteur, which offers innovative solutions for the Quality Control of pharmaceutical products of biological origin. PathoQuest offers biotech innovators around the world a complete expert service from receipt of samples to the production of certificates of analysis. Its assays use proprietary sample processing protocols, a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) sequencing platform and specialized bioinformatics analysis pipelines.
We are currently looking for a Bioinformatics Engineer with our Operations department.
Your mission
Within the Operations department, under the responsibility of the Head of Bioinformatics, you ensure the follow-up, execution and timely reporting of bioinformatics analyzes of data produced by the company’s sequencing platforms, mainly those that relate to viral safety and genetic characterization services.

Participate in the production activities of the company and their evolutions

Perform internal and external customer analyzes

Follow the company’s quality approach during the design, development and deployment phases of bioinformatics software products, in particular by writing the associated documents (functional specifications, test book)

Ensure an effective technological watch in bioinformatics

Participate in product quality assurance according to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard
Profile
Training in bioinformatics, you have experience on a similar function on Illumina or Nanopore.
You master bioinformatics development languages such as Python and R.
You are comfortable working in a Linux environment and on high performance computing servers.
You know how to analyze high-throughput sequencing data and interpret the results.
Technical skills:
- De Novo & Guided Assembly, Mapping, Linux, NCBI, NGS, Blast
- Ensure an effective technological watch in bioinformatics
- Knowledge of biology (molecular and cellular biology, genomics and genetics).
- Knowledge of GMP quality standards.
- A good level of English is a plus.
- Ability to work in a team and at the interface between several disciplines
- Excellent rigor in process monitoring
- Curiosity and interest in rapidly changing fields
- Interpersonal skills and adaptability autonomy and sense of initiative
Location
This position is based near the Paris office (13th arrondissement) in France
